Classical Guitar is the only independent English-language media brand serving the entire community of performers, teachers, students, enthusiasts, and members of the trade.
Classical Guitar covers the full spectrum of people, events, products, ideas, and trends, while also exploring the rich traditions and history of classical guitar.
Classical Guitar delivers news, reviews, and features on four major media platforms – print, web, e-news, and social – with exciting new digital initiatives, greater audience outreach, and larger print magazine issues than ever before.
Classical Guitar was founded in 1982 in England by Maurice Summerfield, author of the standard biographical reference, Classical Guitar: Its Evolution, Players and Personalities Since 1800, who currently serves as a Contributing Editor. In 2014, Classical Guitar was acquired by California-based Stringletter, publishers of Acoustic Guitar, Strings, and Ukulele.
Classical Guitar has a rich tradition of engagement with key partners around the world, serving as the media sponsor to many festivals, and even as a founder of such events as the West Dean Guitar Festival.
