Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers
Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers has been pursuing his twin passions for words and music since he was a teenager. After a stint as a freelance editor and writer for San Francisco Chronicle, Psychology Today, and other publications, he became the founding editor of Acoustic Guitar magazine in 1990. He led the magazine through its tenth anniversary, while also writing scores of articles (including the interviews included in this book) and helping to launch new ventures into books, CD compilations, the Web, and other areas. These days he continues to write extensively for the magazine on all facets of contemporary music, and he is also the editor for Acoustic Guitar's book-publishing arm, working on a wide range of guidebooks, lesson books, and songbooks. As a musician, Rodgers has been writing and playing original songs for over 20 years. His all-acoustic, home-recorded CD, Traveling Songs, can be sampled at JeffreyPepperRodgers.com, along with some of his writings about music and other subjects. In addition to guitar, he has studied North Indian tabla drumming extensively, both in the US and in India.
