Seasoned music journalist Marc Greilsamer has joined Stringletter as Editor of Ukulele, overseeing all content of its quarterly magazine and website, and as Senior Editor of Acoustic Guitar, responsible for its coverage of instruments and gear, along with a variety of print and digital features and departments.
Greilsamer has twenty years of experience in content creation, editing, and management for a wide variety of print and online outlets. Most recently he spent five years as Editor of The Fretboard Journal, where he planned and oversaw the magazine’s coverage of all topics and profiled such artists as B.B. King, John Scofield, David Grisman, Mike Gordon, and Warren Haynes, as well as iconic guitar builders Bill Collings and Jean Larrivée.
In his seven years as Senior Music Editor at Amazon.com, Greilsamer helped launch the online retailer’s music department (its second after books), and initiate its music download service as a key member of the editorial team.
As a freelance journalist, he has written for Guitar Player, No Depression, Down Beat, Blues Revue, and Relix, as well as his new professional base, Acoustic Guitar.
Greilsamer earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Duke University and his Master’s degree in journalism at Stanford University.
