Tom Heimberg
Tom Heimberg (1937–2006) was a violist, teacher, writer, and friend to student and professional musicians not only in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked and lived for most of his professional life, but across the nation and throughout the world of classical music. He was known and loved not only for his fine playing and collaborative spirit, but for his instructive and witty stories about the profession, from practicing effectively to surviving auditions to mastering the hectic schedule of the musical high season.
