With such British artists as Ed Sheeran, Laura Marling and Mumford and Sons fueling a folk-revival across the pond, it’s no surprise acoustic guitar manufacturers are taking notice. Last week, Cordoba Guitars announced its partnering with Selectron Ltd. to distribute all of the company’s lines of guitars and ukuleles in the UK.

The Sittingbourne, Kent-based musical instrument distributor will also handle Guild guitars, the 61-year-old brand Cordoba recently acquired from Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.

Córdoba Music Group CEO Tim Miklaucic hailed the move as a good fit for the 17-year-old nylon-string-guitar company, given Selectron’s “long history” of distributing brands on the British isles. Selectron was founded in 1979.
