Our cover story this time is on “George Harrison and the Ukulele,” tracing the Beatle’s long love affair with and advocacy for the uke, and also including info about Paul McCartney’s and John Lennon’s relationship to the instrument.
Also included in the George Harrison story package is a tutorial on playing Harrison’s Beatles classic “Something,” and one on the 1920s tune “I’ll See You in My Dreams,” one of Harrison’s favorite songs, which was played on ukulele by George’s friend Joe Brown as the final tune at the famous all-star memorial “Concert for George” in 2002.
Lessons include Slack-Key Ukulele, with tips from master Hawaiian ukulele player George Kahumoku Jr., and a Daniel Ward tutorial on using harmonics on the ukulele.
